Causes of Pelvic Pain

It is important to explore the root causes and identify maintaining triggers. Often the connective tissue and fascia in the pelvic area are tender to manipulation and present with poor circulation. Pelvic pain may have been started by:
- Trauma to the Pelvic Floor during Childbirth( Painful episiotomies or nerve traction injuries)
- Chronic Constipation
- Urinary Tract Infections (where the pain continues even after the infection has cleared)
- Vulvodynia
- Interstitial Cystitis(IC)
- Uro/Gynecological surgery
- Certain inflammatory conditions
- Overactivity of the Pelvic Floor Muscles
- Direct Trauma to the Pelvic Floor
- Injury to the Sacrum or Coccyx
- Connective Tissue disorders( EDS)
